    Mr. T. E. Watkins, who has acted as secretary to the Welsh Parliamentary Party, entered Parliament in 1945, when he won the Brecon and Radnor seat from the Conservatives. Born in Abercrave in 1903, from 1928 to 1933 he was political agent for the division and in 1937 was appointed general secretary to the Breconshire Association of Friendly Societies. For 16 years he was secretary to the divisional Labour Party.

    Mr. A. Herbert is a son of the late Col. Aubrey Herbert, who was for 12 years member for Yeovil, and a grandson of the Earl of Caernarvon who was Secretary for the Colonies and a Viceroy of Ireland under Disraeli. Educated at Balliol College, Oxford, he was three times medically rejected for the British Army, but volunteered for the 1st Polish Armoured Division and served with them for five years in the ranks.

He spent three years in prison during the first world war after refusing to serve, regarding the war as a conflict of imperialistic powers. He has written books on economic and social topics.

Urban District Council, and was elected to the Monmouthshire County Council in 1938. He served during the last war with the R.A.F. and was elected to Parliament for Pontypool at a by-election in 1946.

    Cmdr. C. E. M. Donaldson is on the staff of the Scottish Tourist Board. Born in Cornwall in 1903, he was brought up in Vancouver. He joined the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, 1926, and in the war served on the Pacific coast and in Newfoundland. He came to England as liaison officer on the staff of the C.-in-C, Portsmouth, and on demobilization decided to settle in Scotland.
