BIOGRAPHY :

Miss G. W. Dickinson, a teacher, formerly lived at Forest Gate. She early qualified in science and mathematics, and became head mistress of a Newcastle training college. After working in a Government department under Sir William (now Lord) Beveridge on the wages question, she returned to Oxford to study economics and philosophy.
