About parliamentary scheduling

Most detailed business is confirmed only shortly before it takes place. The Government normally controls the majority of Commons time, while opposition parties, backbench MPs and select committees also receive designated opportunities to initiate debates. Urgent questions, ministerial statements and other business can be added with limited notice. Visit UK Parliament’s official calendar for the latest confirmed schedule.
