    Dr. J. J. Hayward is 34, and a medical practitioner at Whitchurch, Cardiff. He fought Abertillery in 1945. He was educated at Swansea Grammar School, Cardiff High School, University College, Cardiff, and the Welsh National School of Medicine. He was chairman of Cardiff University College Conservative Association, 1936-39, and chairman of the Conservative Political Education Committee for Wales and Monmouth, 1946-49. During the war he was a surgeon-commander with the Royal Navy.

    Lt.-Col. D. A. Price-White was born in 1906, and was at the University College of North Wales. He was admitted a solicitor in 1932 and started in practice in Bangor. He served with the Army during the war and rose to the rank of lieutenant-colonel. He was a member of Caernarvonshire County Council, but resigned in 1941. He won Caernarvon Boroughs from the Liberals in 1945.

    Mr. R. Harding, born in 1901, was educated at Cambridge, qualified as a solicitor, was called to the Bar in 1928 and practised on the Wales and Chester circuit. He is Chancellor of the Diocese of St. David’s, and a member of the govening body of the Church in Wales. A keen Rugby footballer, he has captained Cambridge University, the Barbarians, and Wales, and was Welsh sprint champion in 1922 and 1926. He unsuccessfully contested East Swansea in 1945.
