BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. W. Hamling unsuccessfully contested Southport in the 1945 election. He was born in Kirkdale in 1916, graduated from Liverpool University, served with the Royal Marines for five years, and after the war became an organizer and tutor in the Adult Education movement.
