BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. J. D. Tilney was adopted for the reconstituted Wavertree division in 1948, the sitting member, Mr. V. Raikes, moving to Garston. Born in 1907 Mr. Tilney has for 17 years been a member of the Liverpool Stock Exchange, of which his great-grandfather was a founder. He is associated with many business and charitable organizations in the city and is a lieutenant-colonel in the Territorials.
