Mr. M. Hewitson, born in 1897, served with j The Northumberland I Fusiliers, 1914-16, The j Yorkshire Regiment, j 1916-20, and the Pioneer ! Corps, 1940-45. He is a national industrial officer of the General and Muni-cipal Workers’ Union, J and won Central Hull in j 1945. Secretary of the | International General Workers’ Federation, he has also served on the Labour Party national executive. He was educated at Ruskin College? Oxford.
