NEWS STORY : Rosie Cooper Stands Down as MP for West Lancashire

Rosie Cooper, the Labour MP for West Lancashire, has announced that she is stand down as the MP for the constituency with immediate effect. Cooper first won the seat in 2005 and will now become the Chair of the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019, Jack Renshaw was imprisoned for a period of at least twenty years for his involvement in a plot to murder the MP in an attack. Cooper was today appointed to the role of Steward and Bailiff of the Three Hundreds of Chiltern, a technical way of allowing an MP to leave the House of Commons, with a by-election expected to be held in the constituency in the next few weeks.
