Although there was no public agreement between the French and British Governments on the matter of the Ruhr Valley occupation, it was hoped that the two leaders would meet soon in person.

Gustav Stresemann, the new Chancellor of Germany, gave a speech stating how he intended to resolve the country’s economic problems and also how he planned to tackle the issue of war reparations.
