Tackling healthcare associated infections is complex and requires a strong patient safety system that integrates cleanliness, infection prevention and control and antibiotic use. Hand hygiene is an important component and we continuously review and enhance national measures, systems and guidance. For example hand hygiene references in The Health and Social Care Act 2008 Code of Practice for prevention and control of infections and related guidance, were strengthened when it was revised in 2015. It will also form part of forthcoming guidance on reducing Gram negative infections such as E. coli.
Auditing of hand hygiene is a local responsibility and information on hand hygiene compliance is not collected centrally. Therefore, no national assessment has been made of the potential links between hand hygiene compliance levels and the above infections.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what assessment she has made of the effect of increased national insurance and pension employer contributions on school budgets.

Funding for education is a priority for the Government. At the Spending Review last November, the Chancellor protected the core schools budget in real terms, enabling a per-pupil protection for the dedicated schools grant. Throughout this Parliament the money available for our schools will increase as pupil numbers rise.
We recognise that schools are facing increased costs as a result of changes to employer pension and national insurance contributions. We believe that the best way to help schools is through the introduction of a national funding formula.
A national funding formula will do more to put all schools on a level playing field, where funding is matched to need. It will also make it easier for head teachers, governing bodies and local authorities to compare their spending and outcomes with other schools.

Departmental advice for academies wishing to make a change to their existing arrangements is available on GOV.UK.
The new annexe will serve the same age range as the existing site of Weald of Kent Grammar School, which is 11-19. The admission arrangements apply across the whole school. It is the responsibility of the academy trust as the admission authority to ensure that admission arrangements are compliant with The School Admissions Code.
The newly expanded school will better meet the needs of school-age people in the community that it serves, with over 41% of students at the existing site already travelling from the Sevenoaks area.

We remain concerned about Israel’s extensive use of administrative detention which, in accordance with international law, should not be used as routine practice, and should be a preventive rather than a punitive measure. We have not specifically raised the cases of detained Palestinian Legislative Council members. On 3 November officials from our Embassy in Tel Aviv raised the issue of administrative detention with Israeli officials from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Deputy Attorney General.
