Mr. N. W. Murrell, a 33 year old schoolmaster, volunteered as a candidate after the appeal for candidates by Col. Byers, the Liberal Chief Whip. He was educated at St. Luke’s College, Exeter, and Trinity College, London, and served during the war as a captain in the Royal Artillery.
