    Our Embassy in Tel Aviv most recently raised concerns with the Israeli Government over the increase in demolitions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories on 21 April 2016. We did not specifically raise Susiya, or Bedouin villages such as Umm al-Hiran in southern Israel at this time.

    DFID’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Helpdesk central programme has developed a series of guidance notes on how to mainstream the prevention of violence against women and girls into sectoral programmes, including health, education and economic development. Building on this DFID is developing and offering resources to strengthen the capability of specialists in these disciplines in addressing VAWG, including investing up to £25 million over five years (2013-2018) in a pioneering violence against women and girls research and innovation programme called ‘What Works to Prevent Violence’.

    To ask Her Majesty’s Government what representations they have made to the government of Israel regarding harassment and violence by Israeli settlers in the West Bank towards Palestinians living there; and whether they intend to put pressure on the government of Israel to take responsibility for the settlers’ actions.

    The Government condemns all acts of violence by extremist settlers. Settler violence is an abhorrent phenomenon which must be tackled firmly. We condemn such acts and urge the Israeli authorities to investigate thoroughly every instance of violence by settlers and to bring those responsible to justice. We have most recently raised our concerns over this issue on 10 October and stressed the importance of Israeli security forces providing appropriate protection to the Palestinian civilian population.

    The European Commission is running a REFIT Fitness Check of the Habitats and Wild Birds Directives. This is an evidence-based assessment of the Directives’ effectiveness and efficiency.

    The Government takes insurance fraud very seriously and has taken significant action in this area to protect consumers.

    The Government set up the Insurance Fraud Taskforce in January 2015 to investigate the causes of fraudulent behaviour and recommend solutions to reduce the level of insurance fraud, including household and vehicle insurance scams, in order to ultimately lower costs and protect the interests of honest consumers. Its interim report was published in March 2015 and a final report will be published shortly.

    NHS England advises that it has commissioned an independent review to establish the key facts and root causes leading up to the termination of the contract between Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group and UnitingCare Partnership LLP, with the aim of identifying lessons to be learnt and next steps. The investigation, which will take place over the course of this month, will also consider how similar contracts will be managed and assured in the future.

    We do not collate information centrally about the numbers and locations of women’s centres across the UK or the services that they offer.

    The Government believes that future funding for women’s centres should lie at the local level, as local experts know what works in their community and how best to deliver services. We are encouraging and supporting areas to bring together local agencies in the criminal justice, statutory and third sectors to develop a joined-up, multi-agency approach to address the often complex needs of female offenders.
