Jim Cunningham – 2016 Parliamentary Question to the Department for Transport

The below Parliamentary question was asked by Jim Cunningham on 2016-06-27.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 27 June 2016 to Question 40542, what estimate he has made of the number of his Department’s civil servants that will be based in Coventry in each of the next five years; and if he will make a statement.

Mr Robert Goodwill

The Department for Transport currently consists of a central department and four executive agencies as follows:

  • The Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency
  • The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency
  • The Vehicle Certification Agency
  • The Maritime and Coastguard Agency

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has not made an estimate of the number of civil servants it plans to base in Coventry over the next five years. All other areas of the Department do not currently have any plans to base any staff in Coventry.
