    To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what discussions he has had with senior officials in the Royal Navy on the recommendations of the Marine Accident Investigation Branch report on the collision involving the MV Karen fishing boat from Ardglass, County Down in the Irish Sea on 15 April 2016.

    As recognised in the Marine Accident Investigation Report (MAIB), the Royal Navy has already taken actions as a result of this incident. We are now considering the MAIB’s report and its conclusions and recommendations to identify what further actions may be required. I will be visiting Northern Ireland soon and go to Ardglass.

    To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Gardiner of Kimble on 27 October (HL2665), how much of the 2015 Common Agricultural Policy budget has been, or will be, spent in support of United Kingdom agriculture.

    In 2015, the UK has been allocated around 7% of the total CAP budget, equivalent to a total of €4 billion.

    In pounds sterling, based on the average European central Bank exchange rate for September used for calculating direct payments, this equates to a total of £2.9 billion. Of this amount, £2.3 billion is allocated to Pillar 1 direct payments and £620 million to Pillar 2 rural development.

We are following the situation closely and encouraging all the parties to work together to resolve this issue peacefully, in the spirit of compromise and respecting democratic principles.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what the change was in real terms expenditure on social care (a) overall and (b) per 1,000 head of population aged 65 or over in each local authority between 2010 and 2015.

    Expenditure on adult social care, in 2010-11 (adjusted to real terms) and 2014-15 (the latest year for which figures are available), for each local authority in England, is attached.

    It is not possible, from the data available, to dis-aggregate adult social care expenditure for the age range requested.

    Due to differences in definition and changes to the responsibility of service provision between the NHS and local government, it is not possible to compare figures for 2010-11 with 2014-15. In particular, prior to the introduction of the Public Health Grant, elements of public health expenditure may have been classified as adult social care expenditure within the relevant statistical returns.

    The Human Rights Act 1998 has been in force since October 2000. There is no central record of civil cases brought against Defra where a breach of the Human Rights Act 1998 was alleged.

    There have not been any cases since 2010 settled by payment of damages which alleged a breach of the Human Rights Act 1998.

    Since 2012, the Secretary of State visited Birmingham Children’s Services Department in September 2013.

    Since 2012, the Minister of State for Children and Families visited Birmingham Children’s Services Department in December 2013.

    Since her appointment in September 2013, the Chief Social Worker for Children and Families visited Birmingham Children’s Services Department in December 2013 (with the Minister of State for Children and Families), and in January 2014 and July 2014.

    The Secretary of State and the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools have also met officials from Birmingham City Council in London.

    Evidence on the links between long-haul air connections and international trade was presented by the Airports Commission in its Final Report and supporting documents. The Government is considering all of this evidence very carefully before reaching a view on its preferred scheme. The Government is not providing a running commentary on this work before an announcement on its preference.
