    To ask Her Majesty’s Government what discussions they have had about patients’ access to rare cancer medicines that have received a marketing authorisation after the closure of the old Cancer Drugs Fund list and before the launch of the new Cancer Drugs Fund on 29 July, but that have not yet been approved by NICE.

    All cancer drugs licensed since July 2015, but unable to undergo assessment by the Cancer Drug Fund (CDF) in 2015-16 on account of its closure to new drugs, have been incorporated into the technology appraisal work programme of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

    In addition, NHS England has advised that for all of the indications covered by these newly licensed cancer drugs, there already exist treatment options for patients that are either funded from baseline commissioning or from the CDF.

    As announced by my Rt. hon Friend the Secretary of State on 4 October, the Government will run a public consultation in early 2017 on how medical graduates can provide a return on taxpayer investment through a minimum period service of four years in the National Health Service. All stakeholders will have an opportunity to input into policy development at this stage.

    To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how much funding has been provided to HM Revenue and Customs to enforce compliance with minimum wage legislation in each of the last 10 years.

    The Government is committed to increasing compliance with minimum wage legislation and effective enforcement of it. Everyone who is entitled to the minimum wage should receive it. Employers who pay workers less than the minimum wage not only have to pay back arrears of wages at current minimum wage rates but also face financial penalties of up to £20,000 per underpaid worker.

    The Government has increased annual funding of National Minimum Wage enforcement by over 60% since 2010, meaning a £13.2m budget in 2015/16.

    This has enabled a significant expansion of resources dedicated to enforcing the minimum wage; there are currently 237 staff (224.05 full-time equivalent) in HM Revenue and Customs’ National Minimum Wage teams, up from 171 at the start of 2014/15.

    The Government’s BBC Charter Review Public Consultation closed in October. Over 190,000 people responded to the consultation – the second largest response to any Government consultation. We are in the process of reading and analysing all the responses, and will publish the results once this exercise is completed.

    There are long-established and effective working relationships between the police and intelligence agencies of the UK and Ireland to mitigate threats in both countries. The UK Government takes protecting our border security very seriously and there is a high level of co-operation and on-going work with the Irish Government strengthening the external border of the Common Travel Area.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what advice NHS England provides for women who have developed fibroadenomas.

    The number of women who were diagnosed with fibroadenomas in each of the last five years, and the proportion of women with fribroadenomas who went on to develop breast cancer in 2015, is not held.

    In addition, information on the number of women who had fibroadenomas surgically removed in each of the last five years is not held.

    There are several types of benign breast lump, including fibroadenomas. Although most lumps are not breast cancer, any unusual changes to the breasts should be checked by a general practitioner (GP) as soon as possible. If a GP finds a lump on examination, they will routinely refer the patient to be seen by a hospital specialist.
