BIOGRAPHY :

Miss M. Nicholson, born in 1914, took an honours degree in modern history at Oxford, taught in a grammar school in East Ham, and was an adult education tutor. In 1949, she was teaching in Nigeria. Assistant secretary of the Fabian Colonial Bureau and a member of the Labour Party Imperial Advisory Committee, she has made a special study of Indian problems.
