BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. F. Beswick, who won Uxbridge in 1945, is the son of a Nottinghamshire miner. He fought his first election at the age of 22 as Labour candidate for a seat on the London County Council. He has travelled extensively in Europe and visited Spain during the civil war. During the war he served in the R.A.F. He was one of the two M.P.s who witnessed the atom bomb explosion at Bikini.
