BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. S. R. Cawley, second son of Lord Cawley, was born in 1915 and educated at Eton and Oxford. He served in the Royal Corps of Signals until 1942, when he was seconded to the Ministry of Supply as a chemical inspector in explosives factories. After the war he investigated captured German documents dealing with secret weapons and rocket appliances and subsequently reopened a family business of bleachers, dyers and printers, of which he is managing director.
