BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. R. W. Sykes, born in Doncaster in 1915, was educated at Doncaster Grammar School and Oxford University, where he read law and was president of Pembroke College Law Society. For five years a grammar school teacher at Wellingborough and Northampton, he was called to the Bar in 1945, and has practised on the Northern Circuit. He is also a practical farmer, and a member of the Campaign Committee of the Yorkshire Liberal Federation.
