BIOGRAPHY :

Capt. D. N. Thompson, born in 1909 and educated at the London School of Economics, is an ornithologist and a former holder of the Leverhulme Research Fellowship for his work in relation to Highland birds. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1947, being appointed a staff captain. He is a member of the Inverness County Council.
