BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. W. S. Duthie, elected for the constituency in 1945, is a Banff-shire man and was born in a fishing village and trained in a Buckie bank. After living in Canada for some years, he served in the 1914-18 war in The Gordon Highlanders and the Canadian Army. He was at the Ministry of Food in an administrative capacity in the last war and was deputy chief of the Unrra organization in Greece.
