To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what recent steps his Department has taken to adhere to the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Covenant is a promise from the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. The Covenant is delivered by Government Departments, Local Government Authorities, the Charitable Sector and Companies.

Recent steps taken by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) include setting up a network of Armed Forces Covenant champions across the services and the launch of a new Covenant website and branding in January this year. We have been running the application process for the annual £10 million Covenant fund and the £25 million Aged Veterans Fund as well as reviewing applications for LIBOR funding. Work is also being undertaken with financial services providers to tailor their products for the Armed Forces community including Banking, Insurance and Credit History. Our engagement with Local Government Authorities to ensure that the Armed Forces Community can access the same services as other local residents has continued.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, whether NHS England published all of the recommendations made in June 2016 by its Clinical Priorities Advisory Group relating to the medical interventions in the Cancer Programme of Care listed in Appendix 3 of NHS England’s paper on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)-HIV Prevention, published in May 2016.

NHS England has published all of the recommendations made by the Clinical Priorities Advisory Group (CPAG) which relate to interventions in the Cancer Programme of Care, listed in Appendix 3 of NHS England’s paper on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)-HIV Prevention.

The majority of recommendations were published in June 2016, except those that CPAG had already considered (as in-year service developments) in early 2016. This includes policies relating to chemotherapy drugs and everolimus to treat angiomyolipomas, which were included in the PrEP paper in error.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to the Answer of 22 January 2016 to Question 22716, if he will commission a survey on the effects of delays in the publication of the hepatitis C framework on (a) all people and (b) members of the South Asian population in England with hepatitis C.

No such survey has been commissioned. Public Health England and NHS England continue to work together to improve outcomes for people with hepatitis C.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what his Department’s wellness strategy is.

While the Foreign and Commonwealth Office does not have a specific “wellness” strategy we continue to develop and implement our “Health and Safety” (HS) strategy which embraces many aspects of wellbeing. As well as reducing work related accidents and staff absence our HS program will also improve staff wellbeing.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what his Department’s wellness strategy is.

The Scotland Office does not employ staff directly; all staff that join, do so on an assignment, loan or secondment from other government bodies, mainly the Scottish Government and the Ministry of Justice, who remain the employers. As staff stay on the terms and conditions of their parent employers, the wellness strategy that would normally apply would be that of the parent body. Both the Ministry of Justice and Scottish Government have wellness strategies to support their staff. Through these strategies, the staff that are based at the Scotland Office in either London or Edinburgh have access to health facilities, mental health support, and employee assistance programmes.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent discussions he has held with the government of the United Arab Emirates on the number of political prisoners held in that country; and what representations he has made on behalf of such prisoners.

We regularly discuss human rights with the UAE. If we have concerns regarding arrests, convictions or sentencing we make these clear to Emirati authorities, as part of our broader strategic engagement.

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what assessment his Department has made of the effect of the Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016 on access to housing for post-release young offenders.
