    To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what assessment he has made of whether the unavailability of child benefit for 18 year olds in receipt of jobseeker’s allowance is discouraging the take-up of traineeships.

    Legislation prevents 18 year olds who claim JSA claiming Child Benefit (if eligible) and vice versa. 18 year olds claiming JSA can benefit from a traineeship, we are working to ensure that all young people who could benefit from a traineeship are able to do so.

    It is not our policy to refer people to third-sector providers to use the telephone or get help in filling in our forms. As such we do not collect this information. Where third party providers are the most suitable people to provide suport or advice we would signpost claimants to them.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Written Statement of 17 March 2014, Official Report, columns 53-4WS, on the Higgins Review, whether the review of connections from HS2 to the Continent announced in that statement will take account of potential demand for domestic services between HS2 and HS1; and what assessment he has made of the likely level of such demand.

    The Secretary of State has asked HS2 Ltd and Network Rail to consider how to improve connections between the rail network and the continent, in a way that could be implemented once the initial stages of HS2 are complete. The report will explore options that will stand the test of time and will be completed before the end of next year. The remit of the work is being considered and will be finalised shortly.

    We remain deeply concerned by the detention and ill treatment of all prisoners of conscience in Iran, and the ongoing discrimination against Christians and other minority religious groups. We have called for the Iranian government to protect the rights of all minority groups in Iran and end the persecution of individuals on the basis of their faith.

Starting with a trial in October 2010, and reaching a full scale national roll-out in April 2011, existing IB claims began to be phased out, with claimants reassessed to see if they qualify for ESA instead.
