    The table provides figures on a United Kingdom basis for the number of trainees entering further training at Foundation Year 1 (F1) for the last 5 years. However, it should be noted that not all doctors commence their training in the UK at F1, and an accurate figure for these is not available.

    The Crime Survey statistics published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that crime in England and Wales fell by 7% in the year to the end of December 2015 (the latest period for which data is available), and by 7% in the year to the end of December 2014. Over the same period, the number of crimes recorded by the police rose (including in the Lancaster Community Safety Partnership area, which covers Morecombe and Lunesdale). ONS have been clear that rises in police recorded crime are largely the result of more victims coming forward to report certain offences and improvements in police crime recording practices.

    In the last 12 months Regional Schools Commissioners (RSC) took formal intervention measures in 116 academies and free schools; 66 academies and free schools were moved to a different trust or sponsor and 50 academies were issued with a formal notice.

    The UK’s military mission in Afghanistan, as part of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission, is helping train and advise the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces, who are responsible for providing security for the entire population of Afghanistan including civilian Hazaras. In particular UK Armed Forces are playing a vital role in mentoring instructors at the Afghan National Army Officer Academy, where the next generation of Afghan military leaders are being taught.

    Officials at the Department of Health have been working with the Department for Communities and Local Government, NHS England, the Local Government Association and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Service to develop a set of metrics that can be used to monitor local progress towards the integration of health and social care. A draft set of metrics will be trialled during 2016/17, so that central government, national bodies and local system-level partners can together review and refine them before agreeing a final set of integration metrics at the end of the trial year.
