    This Government remains committed to recycling and will be consulting widely on our plans for resources, waste and recycling in developing our 25 Year Environment Plan. I have had a number of discussions with a range of stakeholders in drawing up our plan; as part of these discussions, companies will raise ideas about new products or treatments.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, when HM Courts and Tribunals Service Delivery Director for the North West region was informed of the inclusion of courts in Lancashire on the list of courts being considered for closure under the proposals announced on 23 June 2015.

    The additional £600 million for mental health over the next five years announced in the Spending Review and Autumn Statement is additional to current spending. The levels of funding in individual years and the specific mental health service improvements it will fund will be determined in the new year, once the Mental Health Taskforce has reported.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department is taking to implement the conclusions set out in the Future in Mind report on vulnerable young people in transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service to Adult Mental Health Service.

    The Government’s report, Future in Mind, sets out a ‘vision’ for a comprehensive approach to promoting, supporting and treating our children and young people’s mental health, and to supporting their families. Local Transformation Plans (LTPs) which have been developed by clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to deliver this ‘vision’ have been successfully assured by NHS England. These plans must cover the whole spectrum of services for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, including improved transitions between services. The Government recognises that vulnerable young people are especially at risk at points of transition, which is why local strategic planning as part of the LTPs should take their needs into account.

    123 local transformation plans have been produced covering 209 CCGs. All LTPs were required to be published locally by 31 December 2015 and the CCGs have been asked to provide details of where they are published, as part of the continued assurance process. At least 74 of the 123 LTPs are available online and by mid-February a link will be available to all 123.

    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many inspectors appointed under section 18 of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 are currently in post; what the complement for such inspectors is; how many of the inspectors are former personal or project licence holders; and what the turnover of inspectors so appointed has been over the last three calendar years.

    There are 19 inspectors currently in post appointed under Section 18 of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. This figure includes the position of Chief Inspector. The Home Office is in the process of recruiting three further inspectors to bring the headcount to a complement of 22.

    1) Totals include valid trainees on a placement at a PRU or a school with a PRU attached.

    2) The number of trainee teachers at a PRU is sometimes not known, because PRUs may be attached to a maintained school, and trainee teachers may not necessarily be at the PRU.

    3) The numbers have increased in line with the increase in School Direct numbers and the increase in the number of placement schools.

    To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities, if she will hold discussions with the Secretary of State for Education on encouraging regular trips to engineering firms, factories and laboratories by all-girls’ schools to encourage girls to consider STEM careers.

    We are committed to increasing the number of girls studying STEM subjects and considering STEM careers. That is why earlier this year we announced an ambition to increase the proportion of girls studying STEM subjects by 20% by 2020. We fully encourage engagement between schools and employers to inform and inspire all young people about STEM careers.

    This government wants to see improvements to the quality of careers advice and guidance available to young people, with many more schools and employers working together to provide excellent support. Helping all young people, regardless of background, get the inspiration and guidance they need for success in working life is a key part of this government’s commitment to delivering real social justice. Later this year, we will publish our careers strategy which will set out a clear vision and roadmap for our £90 million investment this parliament to improve careers education and guidance for young people.

    As part of this investment, we are funding the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) to take a lead role in transforming the provision of careers, enterprise and employer engagement experiences for young people to inspire them and prepare them for the world of work. The CEC announced, in March, the successful bidders to the £5 million careers and enterprise investment fund, some of which have a specific focus on STEM. The fund will boost provision for nearly 250,000 young people across England in 75% of the areas the company has identified as ‘cold spots’.

    The government supports the STEM Ambassadors Programme with a network of over 32,000 volunteers from STEM companies and academia who inspire schoolchildren about STEM careers. We also support the industry led Your Life campaign which aims to transform perceptions of STEM subjects by showing young people the range of careers they can pursue.
