To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is the timetable for the recruitment of the 1,900 additional intelligence personnel announced in November 2015, and what is being done to ensure that the salary package offered attracts sufficiently talented applicants.

1,900 additional staff across the three intelligence agencies will be recruited over the Spending Review period to 2020. Specific pay and reward details cannot be disclosed for national security reasons however pay and reward packages for staff at the intelligence agencies are under regular review to ensure that what can be offered reflects both the unique challenges the agencies face, and the high level of ability and skill required to meet them.

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they have plans to issue guidance to vets on how to proceed with the micro-chipping of dogs or horses when the owner is of no fixed abode, such as in the case of Gypsies and Travellers.

Owners of horses and dogs without a fixed address should provide the address of a family member or close friend with whom they keep in contact. Defra have worked with the veterinary representative organisations on their guidance for vets on microchipping of dogs.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what proportion of the defence budget was spent on foreign military sales in (a) 2012-13, (b) 2013-14 and (c) 2014-15.

The proportion of the defence procurement budget, and the defence budget spent on foreign military sales in each financial year cannot be provided. Under the Foreign Military Sales Agreement (FMS), Her Majesty’s Government commits to FMS cases with the US Government which then places contracts with industry to deliver our requirements. Additionally, FMS cases typically cover differing periods of performance, thereby making estimation of the commitment that would fall within each financial year unreliable.
The number of new cases, together with their values, committed to under FMS for each financial year is given in the table below. They do not equate to actual expenditure, accruals or contractual commitments and include contingency provisions.

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what steps the Government has taken to ensure that former Northern Rock mortgage holders will not be disadvantaged by the sale of UK Asset Resolutions’ Granite Portfolio to Cerberus.

A key consideration in the selection of the successful bidder was the continued fair treatment of customers. Cerberus was selected following a thorough due diligence process, and like any buyer, remains subject to the regulatory oversight of the Financial Conduct Authority; including the requirement of Treating Customers Fairly.
Day-to-day management of the assets within the Granite portfolio will remain with the mortgage servicing arm of UK Asset Resolution, and there will be no changes to the terms and conditions of the mortgages involved in the transaction.
