    Damian Green

    The Government is committed to providing more support than ever to victims of crime, and giving them a louder voice in the criminal justice system. We have implemented a new Victims’ Code that tells people what to expect at every stage of the process. We’re aiming to spend up to £100 million – more than ever before – to support victims to cope and, where possible, recover from the effects of crime.

    Bridget Phillipson – 2014 Parliamentary Question to the Department for Education

    The below Parliamentary question was asked by Bridget Phillipson on 2014-04-07.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the Answer of 12 March 2014, Official Report, column 250W, on schools construction, if he will place in the Library a copy of his Department’s non-firm, estimated dates for the start and finish of construction for each PSBP school.

    Mr David Laws

    The Department for Education does not hold firm predictions for when every project will start or finish construction as time scales can shift in either direction.

    I do not believe it is appropriate to publish non-firm, estimated dates for the start and finish of construction for each Priority Schools Building Programme school.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, pursuant to the Answer of 3 April 2014, Official Report, column 744W, on National Careers Service, what assessment his Department has made of the National Careers Service’s progress in achieving its key strategic aims for marketing.

    Matthew Hancock

    The National Careers Service marketing strategy using targeted on-line activity has been pursued since October 2013.

    Through regular market research we have seen an increase in awareness[1] of the support the National Careers Service offers since the campaign started from 24 per cent to 29 per cent. All of the targeted groups show a greater awareness than the remainder of those sampled:

    · Awareness among individuals looking to advance their career has increased by 28 per cent increase to 39 per cent;

    · Awareness among those who are looking for a better job to support a change in circumstances has increased by 14 per cent to 32 per cent;

    · Awareness among those who have been or are about to be made redundant has remained broadly the same with 37 per cent aware of the Service.

    Over 56 per cent of these three groups are likely to use the Service, compared with only 8 per cent of others surveyed.

    [1] Both spontaneous and prompted.

    Bridget Phillipson – 2014 Parliamentary Question to the Ministry of Defence

    The below Parliamentary question was asked by Bridget Phillipson on 2014-06-04.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Answer of 26 March 2014, Official Report, column 318W, on conflict resolution: females, if he will publish in the Library the minutes of the meetings on this matter on (a) 24 February, (b) 5 March, (c) 20 March, (d) 18 March, (e) 19 March and (f) 13 March 2014.

    Anna Soubry

    None of the meetings mentioned were convened by the Ministry of Defence (MOD). They were convened by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as the lead Department, or by the Department for International Development on behalf of the FCO and thus it is they who may have a record of the meetings, the MOD has no record of any formal minutes. However the real output of these meetings was in the development of the UK’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security which was published by the Foreign Secretary on 12 June at the Global Summit on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict. This document is available from the FCO.
