    Mr. Harold Wilson became M.P. for Orms-kirk in 1945 and President of the Board of Trade in 1947. Previously he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Secretary for Overseas Trade. At Oxford he won first-class honours in economics and became a research fellow. He was at one time a lecturer in economics at New College, and was an economic assistant in the War Cabinet secretariat, 1940-41.

He has travelled extensively in Europe and visited Spain during the civil war. During the war he served in the R.A.F. He was one of the two M.P.s who witnessed the atom bomb explosion at Bikini.

    Mr. G. S. Lindgren was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation in 1946, and was previously Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of National Insurance. He was born in 1900 and educated at an L.C.C. elementary school. He became a railway clerk, and for many years was on the executive of the Railway Clerks’ Association. The first Labour member of the Hertfordshire County Council, he was elected an alderman in 1939 and served until last year. During the war he was Deputy Regional Commissioner for the West Midlands.
