Born in 1908, and receiving an elementary education, Mr. Lee led the 23,000 employees of a Manchester engineering company as chairman of the works committee.

He was born in 1899, educated at Eton and Sandhurst. He has many associations with Rutland, having been High Sheriff in 1921, and is a deputy lieutenant for the county. He held a commission in the Grenadier Guards and served with them in both wars.
