A BBC investigation has raised questions about the involvement of bankrupt businessman Anton Hall in a new series of online prize competitions. Hall was the sole director of Level Up Giveaways, which was wound up in August 2025 owing money to customers, including winners who say they never received prizes worth thousands of pounds. Hall was subsequently declared bankrupt in November 2025.
A bankrupt person requires permission from a court to participate directly or indirectly in the promotion, formation or management of a limited company. Hall told the BBC that he had neither established nor managed a company and had hosted the new competitions personally through the independent Raffall platform. However, the BBC said his social media activity suggested that he played a leading role in promoting and operating the venture, including discussing sales, financial results and its future direction. Raffall confirmed that the relevant account and the account receiving payments were both in Hall’s name.
Raffall said that it had been contacted by the Insolvency Service about the account, although the agency declined to comment on an individual case. Hall said that the competitions had made no net profit and that an earlier proposed business arrangement with another person did not proceed once he became aware of his bankruptcy restrictions. After being approached by the BBC, he indicated on social media that he would stop running the competitions. No criminal charge has been reported and Hall’s bankruptcy restrictions are due to expire on 7 November 2026.
