Conservative Tom Wootton has won the election to become the Mayor of Bedford, beating the incumbent Liberal Democrat Mayor, Dave Hodgson, by 145 votes.

Chris Cooke has been elected as the Mayor of Middlesbrough, narrowly beating the incumbent Andy Preston who was first elected to the role in 2019.
