    The Department for Education does not collect data on the number or proportion of schools in England providing the minimum level of cultural education proposed in Appendix A of Cultural Education: a summary of programmes and opportunities. Nor does the Department collect data on what proportion of pupils, of any age, have received the minimum level of cultural education it proposes.

    The levels of cultural education the Appendix proposes are not mandatory, but are included as a point of reference for schools.

    The Cultural Passport scheme was launched as ‘Artsbox’ in February of this year. The programme is run independently of DCMS by Trinity College London, and therefore the Department does not hold the information requested. DCMS welcomes this initiative which allows children and young people to share their creative work.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what guidance his Department will provide for NHS staff on whether to share the information on the Child Protection Information Sharing project with relevant local authorities, police forces or care homes.

    The Child Protection – Information Sharing (CP-IS) project will allow the sharing of child protection information between National Health Service unscheduled care settings and local authority children’s services staff only. The information will not be shared with care homes or the police.

    CP-IS will hold child protection information only for children in England who are subject to a child protection plan or are looked after by a local authority.

    When NHS staff submit a query the CP-IS service, the system will electronically share the following information with the local authority responsible for the child: the time and date of the query, the name of the NHS healthcare worker who made the query, and the NHS organisation from within which the query was made.

    CP-IS will not introduce information sharing over and beyond what is currently shared by NHS staff and local authorities.

    The Health and Social Care Information Centre has published guidance on its website for NHS and local authority staff on how to use the CP-IS system.

    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 28 April 2014, Official Report, columns 526-7, on student visas, if she will publish details of the successful pilot with one university on ensuring overseas students return home once their course is completed.

    Foreign national students who had been served with an adverse immigration
    decision were, at times, encountering a delay in receiving their travel
    documents back from the Home Office. On occasion this resulted in their
    immigration status changing to an overstayer.

    The pilot referred to was conducted through an informal relationship between
    the South Central Immigration Compliance and Enforcement (ICE) team and the
    International Student Advisors embedded within two local Universities. Through
    this link, those whose leave has been curtailed, have had an adverse decision,
    or wish to depart the UK are provided with local assistance by the Immigration
    Enforcement team. The pilot has enabled the local ICE team to facilitate the
    return of travel documents quickly, resulting in an earlier departure for the
    student. This has benefits for both the student and University as becoming an
    overstayer could jeopardise future applications from students to continue their
    studies. During 2013/14, fifty students were assisted in this way from two
    Universities (this is local data taken from local records that has not been
    sourced from an official database).

    The Government is looking at how this example of local good practice can be
    extended nationally.

This amount includes the cost of the staff on the inquiry amounting to £639,000 and direct costs of £71,000 (including survey costs).
