To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many (a) civilian personnel, (b) uniformed personnel and (c) civil servants were employed at (i) MOD Grantown-on-Spey, (ii) MOD Llanwrst, (iii) MOD Fairbourne and (iv) MOD Crickhowell in each of the last 10 years; and if he will make a statement.

Information available on the number of personnel at each of the locations requested is provided in the tables below. The number of military personnel and civil servants is as at 1 October for each year. Data for military personnel can only be provided for the last nine years as prior to this information is not held centrally. The number of contractors can only be provided by financial year.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment he has made of specialist skills and training available for armed forces personnel at (a) MOD Llanwrst and (b) MOD Fairbourne; and if he will make a statement.

The RAF constantly reviews its adventurous training to ensure the training being delivered best meets its requirements.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many square meters of stores facilities are available at (a) MOD Grantown-on-Spey, (b) MOD Llanwrst, (c) MOD Fairbourne and (d) MOD Crickhowell; when storage was built in each of those establishments; what the average cost of those storage facilities is; and if he will make a statement.

The square metres of storage space at each of the four locations are as follows:

Records of when the storage facilities were built are not held. However no storage facilities have been built in the last year. Scoping work for a new storage facility at FDTC Crickhowell is ongoing.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what student satisfaction surveys are conducted after training at (a) MOD Grantown-on-Spey, (b) MOD Llanwrst, (c) MOD Fairbourne and (d) MOD Crickhowell; what the average satisfaction rate is; and if he will make a statement.

Student surveys at Joint School for Adventurous Training Instructors (JSATI) Llanrwst, Force Development Training Centre (FDTC) Crickhowell, Fairbourne and Grantown-on-Spey are conducted at the end of each training course. The information is analysed against training objectives and used for continuous improvement purposes. Students are not requested to provide an overall rating for satisfaction.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the aims are of the Eagle training scheme; when that scheme was developed; how many service personnel and reservists from each service have undertaken that scheme; what the cost per trainee of that scheme was; which training centres provided that training; and if he will make a statement.

The Eagles Scheme was developed in 2008 to utilise adventurous training and staff rides to enhance ethos, communication skills, leadership and management skills. Although historic records on attendance are not held centrally, the aim for financial year 2015-16 is to deliver courses to 5,000 personnel as follows:

The Ministry of Defence is on target to train these personnel by the end of this financial year. The anticipated average cost per person, based on 5,000 personnel, is around £285.00 per person per week.

RAF personnel are set generic Leadership, Management, Air Power, Communication, Force Protection, Ethos, Military Skills and Organisational objectives. Training delivered at the Force Development Adventurous Training Centres helps deliver these objectives.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the average accommodation and travel costs relating to training at (a) MOD Grantown-on-Spey, (b) MOD Llanwrst, (c) MOD Fairbourne (d) MOD Crickhowell were in each of the last 10 years; and if he will make a statement.

I assume the hon. Member is referring to the Force Development and Adventurous Training Review. Whilst the provision of adventurous training for the whole force concept was one of the many factors in the Review, we do not hold documents principally about the whole force concept.
