    Driver licensing in Northern Ireland is a devolved matter and is the responsibility of the Northern Ireland Executive not the UK government. The online facility administered by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is available only to those resident in Great Britain.

    The Home Office does not pay a home to office travel allowance for staff to travel to their normal place of work. There is one employee of an Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) who is paid an allowance for home to work travel.

    Neither the Home Office nor its NDPBs pays any of its staff a car allowance.

    Neither the Home Office nor its NDPBs provides subsidised health insurance to any of its staff.

    Contracted provision will continue to play a crucial role in supporting the long term unemployed and those with health conditions and disabilities. The new Work & Health Programme will support those who have reached the 24 month point in their claim as well as targeted referrals of claimants with health conditions and disabilities. By 2020/21, the core funding from central government for this provision will be around £130m a year. We will work closely with the market to ensure a smooth transition from existing provision to the new provision.

    There are no plans to bring forward legislative proposals to extend the 28 day eviction notice period for care home residents. Periods of notice for care home residents will depend on the terms of agreements and/or contracts between providers and purchasers or commissioners of care, which are for negotiation locally.

    Local authorities receive funding for early years places through the Dedicated Schools Grant and are responsible for deciding how best to distribute this funding. They are required to fund all early years providers, including free schools with nursery provision, who meet the quality requirements set out in statutory guidance. The department does not keep a central list of the early years providers that are funded by local authorities.

    The Government is responsible for the legislative structure within which local licensing authorities deliver the licensing regime for taxis and private hire vehicles. Enforcement of the licensing regime, including ensuring that private hire vehicles do not illegally ply for hire, is therefore a matter for local licensing authorities and the police.

    Over the past two financial years, the British Embassy in The Gambia has provided funding support to civil society organisations totalling £81,965. This funding has focused on ten projects relating to human rights, good governance, education, health and disease prevention and environmental conservation. The funding is part of the Embassy’s Bilateral Programme Fund and comes under Overseas Development Assistance. There is no British Council in The Gambia.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 18 June 2015 to Question 2544, what progress is being made on reviewing the Mersey Tunnel tolls.

    The Review of the Mersey Tunnel Tolls is being undertaken by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. It is currently underway and will inform the Authority’s toll setting decisions for 2016-17, which will be taken next month. Officials at the Department are engaging with the Authority on the Review, which is expected to continue during 2016-17 to inform a longer term tolling position.
