    To ask the hon. Member for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross representing the House of Commons Commission, how many fire alarms have sounded in Portcullis House in the last 12 months; on how many of these occasions the London Fire Brigade arrived to attend a fire; and on how many of these occasions the London Fire Brigade discovered a fire.

    There have been three fire alarms resulting in evacuations from Portcullis House in the last 12 months. One of these alarms, on 24th March 2014, led to the attendance of the London Fire Brigade. On this occasion the alarm was triggered by a heat detector following the overheating of a grill in the Lower Ground Kitchens as well as the triggering of a manual call point. No fire was discovered.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what discussions he has had with train operating companies and rolling stock companies on the availability of rolling stock to train operating companies during the periods of franchise extension.

    The Department for Transport regularly meets with the rolling stock companies to discuss the rolling stock market, including upcoming competitions and direct awards. In the development of each directly awarded franchise the Department has extensive discussions with the operator to discuss rolling stock issues, including maintenance, potential upgrades and the overall availability of stock during the period of the franchise, to ensure that appropriate levels of passenger service can be provided within the period.

    Ministers regularly meet with train operating companies and rolling stock companies to discuss a wide range of issues, including the rolling stock market. The Department expects train operators and rolling stock companies ultimately to resolve any issues with regard to the availability of rolling stock for the period of their franchise, or any extension thereof.

    We have been able to provide the information dating back to 2011. The number of press officers employed by the Department is as follows:

    March 2014 – 20

    March 2013 – 20

    March 2012 – 23

    July 2011 – 31

    By way of comparison in March 2010 the Department employed 54 press officers

    The Ministry of Justice provides a core grant of £38m to Victim Support of which £12m is used to fund the provision of emotional and practical support for witnesses at criminal courts who wish to receive this service.

    The Ministry of Justice does not routinely collect data on how this funding is distributed by Victim Support.

    We are committed to working with the government of India and international partners to address the problem of gender-based violence, human trafficking and child exploitation in India. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt. Hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague) has invited the government of India to attend the End Sexual Violence in Conflict Summit and has already discussed the initiative with the new Indian Foreign Minister.
