    Karen Bradley

The Counter–Extremism Strategy set outs our approach to tackling extremist ideologies. We will challenge all those groups or individuals who vocally or actively oppose our fundamental values, who seek to promote, encourage and spread intolerance of individuals of different faith and beliefs. We are clear that this approach tackles all forms of extremism: violent and non violent, Islamist and neo-Nazi.

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what guidance, if any, they give to local authorities and London boroughs about conducting consultations with neighbouring authorities or boroughs before making an Experimental Traffic Management Order.

We have not issued any guidance that specifically advises how consultation should be carried out with neighboring authorities or boroughs before making an Experimental Traffic Management Order.

However, under regulation 6 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure)(England and Wales) Regulations 1996, before making an experimental order, traffic authorities are obliged to consult other authorities where the order relates to, or might affect traffic on, a road for which another authority is the highway authority or the traffic authority.

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how they are ensuring that the Lead Provider Framework procurement process is not used to continue employing expensive management consultants.

    Lord Prior of Brampton

Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) will make decisions about their requirements when procuring services from the Lead Provider Framework and evaluate responses in order to appoint to the provider that represents the highest quality and best value for money.

The Framework contains nine accredited lead providers that bring together a range of partners and specialist organisations in analytical and intelligence services, contracting and transformation to ensure CCGs can source a diverse range of skills and expertise on a more efficient basis than employing management consultants.

NHS England created the Lead Provider Framework to enable CCGs to access affordable commissioning support from at scale providers so they would not have to rely on expensive management consultants sometimes of variable quality.

Tim Loughton – 2016 Parliamentary Question to the Department for Education

The below Parliamentary question was asked by Tim Loughton on 2016-02-03.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what role the child protection task force has in preventing harm to children.

    Edward Timpson

At the heart of the government’s agenda for all children is how to safeguard and protect children from harm. An important part of this is the work of the cross-government Ministerial taskforce on Child Protection.

The Child Protection Implementation Taskforce is taking a comprehensive approach to child protection through looking at the children social care system as a whole. Every stage of the child’s journey in the care system is important to safeguard and protect children. The Taskforce has looked at how we get the best people to deliver the right outcomes for allchildren– in particular through social work reform and improving leadership; through improving systems and practice – building a better performing, more innovative social care sector; and through accountability and governance, looking at how arrangements locally and nationally help to drive a strong and improving system. It is monitoring implementation and driving forward improvements and reform.

The Department for Education published a paper in January 2016 – ‘Children’s social care reform: a vision for change’ – which outlines the areas of reform the Taskforce has been looking at. This can be found on the gov.uk website at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/childrens-social-care-reform-a-vision-for-change
