    BIOGRAPHY :

    Sir Ralph Glyn has sat continuously for Abingdon since 1924. During the National Government of 1931 he was joint Parliamentary private secretary to Mr. Ramsay Mac-Donald. He was created a baronet in 1934. Born in 1886, he joined The Rifle Brigade in 1904 after being educated at Harrow and Sandhurst. He contested two by-elections in 1910, and was returned for Clackmannan and E. Stirling in 1918, serving for four years.

He was for a time Parliamentary private secretary to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and was a delegate to the Council of Europe at Strasbourg. Born in 1908, he was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Oxford, and has played cricket for Harrow, Oxford University and Kent.
