    The below Parliamentary question was asked by Luciana Berger on 2016-01-11.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Health, with reference to the Prime Minister’s announcement of 11 January 2016, how much of the proposed £1.4 billion mental health support funding for young people over the next five years has already been allocated.

    Alistair Burt

    The Government has committed to making available the full £1.4 billion over the course of this Parliament to improve children and young people’s mental health.

    In this financial year (2015/16), the Government has already allocated £173 million. This includes:

    – £75 million for clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to improve local services;

    – £30 million to CCGs to develop evidence based community eating disorder services for children and young people;

    – £28 million to fund the expansion of the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme;

    – £15 million for improvements to perinatal mental health care; and

    – £25 million for investment in inpatient services for children and young people, to build workforce capability, and to support innovation and development of online support.

    A targeted and phased approach to the additional investment over future years will enable local areas to develop additional capacity and a collaborative approach across health, education and children’s services so that the money can be spent effectively. This is what is needed to make a real difference. The Government remains committed to spend the whole £1.4 billion over the course of this Parliament to improve children and young people’s mental health.

    To ask the Prime Minister, how many mental health services he has visited since May 2010; and what the (a) date and (b) location was of each such visit.

    Mr David Cameron

    Details of my visits within the United Kingdom are published on the gov.uk website.

    Most recently, on 11 January I visited Family Action in London where I announced £290 million of new investment over the next 5 years to provide mental healthcare for new mums, £247 million to invest in liaison mental health services in emergency departments, over £400 million to enable 24/7 treatment in communities as a safe and effective alternative to hospital and expanded services to help teenagers with eating disorders. This builds on previous government funding commitments for mental health over the last 12 months, including £150 million for young people with eating disorders and £1.25 billion for perinatal and children and young people’s mental health.

    Andrew Rosindell – 2016 Parliamentary Question to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office

    The below Parliamentary question was asked by Andrew Rosindell on 2016-01-11.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, when any Ministers in his Department last met Chagossian representatives; and when they next plan to do so.

    James Duddridge

    Ministers last met the Chagos Islands (British Indian Ocean Territory) All-Party Parliamentary Group in February 2015. Officials have held meetings with around 500 Chagossians in the last 12 months in London, Crawley, Manchester, Seychelles and Mauritius. The Government has recently undertaken a twelve week public consultation about a potential resettlement of the British Indian Ocean Territory, and I am now considering the results, with a view to the Government determining a way ahead on this important issue very soon. It would be inappropriate to meet Chagossians until the results of this consultation have been considered.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will ensure that his (a) Department will not enter into negotiations with Argentina without the full consent of the Falkland Islands government and (b) Department’s position remains to deny any transfer or reduction of British sovereignty over the Falkland Islands without the full consent of the Falkland Islanders.

    Mr Hugo Swire

    We are hopeful for an improvement in bilateral relations with Argentina. Our position on the Falkland Islanders’ right to self determination will not change.

    Andrew Rosindell – 2016 Parliamentary Question to the Home Office

    The below Parliamentary question was asked by Andrew Rosindell on 2016-01-11.

    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will make it her policy to encourage an increase in migration to the UK from Australia to the levels of such migration prior to 2008.

    James Brokenshire

    We value our close links with Australia and are committed to further strengthening our ties. Across all visa categories, total visas issued to Australian nationals grew by 10% in the year ending September 2015.

    However, the Government is committed to reducing net migration to sustainable levels. We have capped the level of skilled economic migration from outside the EU, and have asked the Migration Advisory Committee to advise on restricting Tier 2 of the Points Based System for immigration to genuine skills shortages and highly specialist experts to ensure that we only grant visas to those who have the skills we really need in our economy. We have no plans to introduce specific targets for Australian migration to the UK.
