BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. E. C. Baker, born in 1892, gained his cricket blue at Cambridge and occasionally played for Sussex some years ago. After service in the 1914-18 war he became a staff captain at the Army School of Instruction, Shorncliffe, and later took an appointment in Malaya. After the second world war, in which he was an Army instmctor, he was a senior history master at Bedford School for two years before returning to Cambridge to join the extra-mural board.
