BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. R. Richards, 64, has represented Wrexham continuously since 1935. He first won the seat in 1922 and was Undersecretary for India in the first Labour Government. He also sat in the 1929-31 Parliament. Son of a miner, he became head of the Economics Department of the North Wales University College, Bangor, and a tutor in economics and political science at Coleg Harlech.
