BIOGRAPHY :

Lt.-Col. D. C. Boles became member for Wells in 1939, when he was returned unopposed. Born in 1885 and educated at Eton and Sandhurst, he served with the 17th Lancers throughout the 1914-18 war and afterwards commanded the Royal Horse Guards. While at Eton he scored 183 in the Eton-Harrow cricket match in 1904.
