BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. C. W. Gibson won the Kennington seat in 1945, but it disappeared in the redistribution. Born in 1889, he studied at Morley College, Rus-kin College and the London School of Economics, and was an official of the Transport and General Workers Union until elected to Parliament. For four years he was a member of the Central Housing Advisory Committee. Since 1943 he has been chairman of the London County Council Housing Committee.
