BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. L. J. Solley won Thurrock in 1945 but was expelled from the Labour Party in 1949. Aged 43, he won his way by scholarships from an elementary school to London University and was called to the Bar. He is a Profumo prizeman of the Inner Temple. As a practising barrister he has specialized in housing and town-planning law.
