BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. L. Orridge, aged 41, started as an office boy with a glass firm and became a director in 1934. Later he was an executive with a tyre manufacturing company and left in 1941 to take an R.A.F. commission. He served in the Middle East and was invalided out in 1944, and is a publisher and bookseller. At one time a Liberal, he was adopted as prospective candidate for South Stoke in 1948, but joined the Conservative Party in 1949.
