BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. P. Piratin was the first Communist member of Stepney Borough Council, on which he became a ” one-man opposition,” but lost the seat in 1949. He entered Parliament in 1945 as member for Mile End, making, with Mr. W. Gallacher, a Communist Party of two. He is 43 years old.
