BIOGRAPHY :

Dr. W. S. Russell Thomas was born in 1896 and educated at Christ’s College, Brecon, and Queens’ College, Cambridge. He qualified both as physician and surgeon at Guy’s Hospital, and was later called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn. After fighting three different seats in 1931, 1935, and 1936, he was returned unopposed for Southampton as a Liberal National in 1940, but was defeated in 1945.
