BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. A. Crawford, a farmer in the county and ex-member of the county council, fought the seat in 1945. He is on the county agricultural executive committee, was chairman of the farmers’ union in 1925, and is an hon. member of the Union of Agricultural Workers. He has been chairman without salary for 20 years of Melton Farmers’ Co-operative Society, which has an annual turnover of £4m.
