BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. Harold Davies was born in South Wales in 1904, won scholarships to a grammar school and the University of Wales, and became a teacher. For 13 years before his election for Leek in 1945 he was a lecturer in adult education. At Westminster he was a member of the Foreign Affairs Group of the Labour Party, and was also interested in agriculture and coal, as well as the social services. He has travelled in Europe, the United States, and the Far East.
