BIOGRAPHY :

Sir Peter Macdonald has sat for this division since 1924. Born in Nova Scotia in 1895, he was educated at Dal-housie College, Canada, and Trinity College, Cambridge. He served with the forces in both wars. During his membership of the House of Commons he founded, a.id was chairman for 20 years of the Conservative Parliamentary Imperial Affairs Committee ; member of the Select Committee on Estimates for the past 20 years ; a member of many other committees and of Parliamentary delegations to foreign countries.
