BIOGRAPHY :

Earl Winterton, ” Father ” of the House and M.P. for Horsham since 1904, is 66 and was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford. He served in Gallipoli and Palestine in the 1914-18 war and has held various Ministerial appointments, including Under-Secretary of State for India and Paymaster-General. He was a member of the Cabinet from March, 1938, to January, 1939.
